Straight after breakfast ( in bed of course) I was off in the school mini bus on a tour of Wells.

Everyone was preparing for the Queen's visit.

There were flags out everywhere and the market square was full of metal barriers ready for the crowds.

The shop windows were all decorated.

We found a Traffic Warden, John Winfield, putting cones around Cathedral Green.

As it was raining a little he let us sit in his Range Rover as he told us that the Queen was going to be allowed to break the law on Thursday.

She was going to drive the wrong way up a one way street to reach the Market Square, we were all very surprised.

We left John to get on with his work and off we went to the Cathedral and the Bishops Palace.
I needed a little help climbing up the steep steps to the to the Chapter House.

It has a huge stone pillar in the middle with lovely carving. But the seats were very cold to sit on!

This is a birds eye view of the Bishops palace, if you look at the Square page you will see someone who might see this kind of view
